EJA U18s Essex Division, Sunday 3rd March 2013
This was the first of two games at Southchurch Park today with the U18s and U16s both having games. The game kicked off at 10.30am in lovely bright sunshine It was the away side who opened the scoring after 13 minutes when the Keeper came for the cross and he wasn't able to claim it and the ball fell to Tilburys No.6 who poked it into the net. Manor were level on 28 minutes. A ball through the middle was contested by Joe Darby and a defender and Darby managed to fight off the defender before slotting past the keeper. On 50 minutes manor went in front. After great wing play the ball was squared across the six yard box into the path of Nick Henesy who smashed home. However on 76 minutes Tilbury equalised when the No.6 managed to control the ball and smack the ball past the keeper into the far corner. This came rather against the run of play as Manor had created all the chances in the half up till then. Just as it looked as if the game was heading for a draw Manor scored the winner. Liam Jarrett played a ball over the top of the Tilbury defence and Robbie Lewis escaped the attention of his marker to produce a match winning finish beyond the keeper. It was a well deserved victory for the home side.
