Essex Senior League, Saturday 9th March 2013
This match was switched from Coles Park, Haringey to Burroughs Park, Great Wakering earlier in the week at the request of Haringey. With only two other League games on today it seemed a good decision. Wakering took the lead on 33 minutes with a scrappy goal from their centre half Lewis Sparrow from about three yards out. Six minutes later and it was 2-0. Dan Trenkel, Wakering's player manager, nodded home a Jay Nash cross on his 350th senior appearance. The third goal came on 72 minutes when Jay Nash stretched and managed to get the ball in off the underside of the crossbar. Lewis Godwin Green in the Wakering goal made three decent saves in the second half but to be honest Wakering deserved their victory. Haringey play good football but had no end product today.
