Berkhamsted Reserves 0 Southend Manor Reserves 1

Pre Season Friendly, Saturday 27th July 2013

This was Manor's Reserves side first real pre season friendly and they started well and knocked the ball around quite nicely.   Manor winger Barv was causing all kinds of problems down the right hand side with his pace and left the full back for dead a numerous occasions.   The only goal of the game came on 34 minutes from that man Barv when after he was played into the box he finished neatly past the keeper at the near post.  It was the least the away side deserved after dominating much of the half (even hitting the post earlier and having a goal chalked off for offside).   The second half continued in the same fashion and Manor should of been out of sight but some interesting decisions from the officials combined with poor finishing kept the score at 1-0.  Dylan Skinner in the Manor goal made a couple of good saves to keep Manor ahead and then right at the end Berkhamsted hit the post to almost snatch a draw which would have been a bit harsh on the visitors.   So a great performance from the ressies and looks good for the season ahead!!!
