Goals from Hurley, Baldwin and Tanimowo gave Southend Manor a comfortable 3-0 win over Newham this afternoon. In a game switched from Newham's Terrence McMillan stadium to Manor's Southchurch Park Arena, Manor began the game well and took the lead on 2 minutes when a cross from Tanimowo found Christian Hurley totally unmarked at the back post and he had time to control the ball before firing past Richardson in the Newham goal. Manor could of been three up inside the first fifteen minutes, such was their dominance and Newham had hardly any chances of note at all. Into the second half and Newham's Dixon headed against the bar, the closest the 'home' side had come to a goal. On 55 minutes Manor were given a great chance to double their lead when Tanimowo burst forward and into the area before being fouled and Aaron Baldwin converted the spot kick to give Manor some breathing space. The 'away' side sealed the deal with five minutes to go when star man Tanimowo drove into the area from the left, beat a couple of challenges before slipping the ball under Richardson from the angle to cap a fine afternoon for Manor.
