The County Motor Works Vauxhall Mid Essex Football League (Saturday 3rd April) Preview

 


The County Motor Works Vauxhall Mid-Essex Football League returns to action on Saturday (3rd April) as the six divisions restart their 2020/21 campaigns, so let’s have a look ahead to those fixtures that take place this weekend shall we…

Premier Division

CT66 v Brentwood United (Waterside Farm Leisure Centre, 2pm)

League leaders CT66 take on sixth placed Brentwood United looking to build on good early season form, the hosts have won four of their seven league games so far, whilst the visitors have won have of their six games up to this point, CT66 did lose their last competitive run out though after a 3-2 loss at Pitsea Athletic, Brentwood won the derby against Athletic 3-2 in their last run out.

 

Haver Town v Pitsea Athletic (Seymour Field #2, 2pm)

Second placed Haver Town take on fourth placed Pitsea Athletic, the sides are only separated by a point so a win for either would be big, Haver have won four of their seven games so far whilst Pitsea have won two thirds of the six, the hosts won 4-1 at Burnham Ramblers Reserves last time out, Pitsea netted a 3-0 home win over Mayland Village in their last outing.

 

Mayland Village v Burnham Ramblers Reserves (Lawling Park, 2pm)

The hosts sit seventh in the division and are up against a Burnham side who are two places and five points above them, Mayland have two wins and three losses from their five games, whilst Burnham have three wins from their seven games, Mayland were beaten 3-0 at Pitsea Athletic last time out whilst Burnham were beaten 4-1 at home by Haver Town.

 

 

Division One

Baddow Athletic v Laindon Republic (Great Baddow Recreation Ground #1, 2pm)

Bottom side Baddow take on third bottom Laindon at The Rec, Baddow have lost all five games played so far this season, Laindon are also without a win too but have picked up two draws in those five games, Baddow were thrashed 6-0 at home by Harold Wood Athletic ‘A’ last time out, Laindon were narrowly beaten at Islanders 2-1.

 

Harold Wood Athletic ‘A’ v Notley (Harold Wood Park, 2pm)

Third placed Wood take on seventh placed Notley, the hosts have four wins from five so far whilst Notley have just one win from their four league games thus far, Wood won 6-0 at Baddow Athletic in their last outing whilst Notley netted a 7-3 home success in the Cup against Harold Wood Athletic ‘B’.

 

Old Chelmsfordians ‘A’ v White Notley Reserves (Old Chelmsfordians Sports & Social Club, 2pm)

Fifth placed Old Chelmsfordians welcome second placed White Notley to their Sports & Social Club, OC’s have two wins from their six games so far, Notley have four wins from five, the home side did get beaten 4-1 at home by Hutton ‘A’ last time out, Notley netted a 2-1 home win over Rayleigh Town ‘A’ in their last run out.

 

Stock United v Hutton ‘A’ (The Apps Field, 2pm)

Second bottom Stock United take on fourth placed Hutton ‘A’, the hosts have not won this season and have lost four of their five games, Hutton have four wins from six, Stock’s last outing though was their first point of the season after a 1-1 draw with Rayleigh Town ‘A’, Hutton netted a 3-2 win over Laindon Republic last time out.

 

Rayleigh Town ‘A’ v Islanders (Rawreth Lane Recreation Ground, 2.30pm)

Sixth place hosts Rayleigh welcome league leaders’ islanders to Rawreth Lane Rec, the hosts have two wins from their five games, but Islanders have four wins from six as they lead the way on goal difference from White Notley Reserves and Harold Wood Athletic ‘A’, Rayleigh drew 1-1 at Stock United last time out, Islanders edged past Laindon Republic 2-1 at home.

 

 

Division Two

Basildon Wanderers v Beacon Hill Rovers Reserves (Ford Sports & Social Ground, Basildon #1, 2pm)

Second placed Basildon welcome second bottom side Beacon Hill to their Ford Sports Ground, the hosts have four wins from their six games so far whilst Beacon Hill have one win and three losses from four games, Wanderers last game saw them net a 2-0 home win over Fleet, whilst Beacon Hill actually picked up that one and only win last time out when they also defeated Fleet at home 3-2.

 

Boreham v Brentwood Athletic Reserves (Boreham Recreation Ground, 2pm)

League leaders Boreham welcome sixth placed Brentwood to Boreham Rec, the hosts have four wins from five this season and are unbeaten, Brentwood have two wins and three losses from five, Boreham’s last game saw them defeat second placed Basildon Wanderers 2-1 in a cup game, Brentwood netted a 6-0 success at Writtle Manor.

 

Fleet v Kenson (Deanes School Sports College, 2pm)

Third bottom Fleet take on fourth placed Kenson at Deanes, the hosts have two wins and three defeats from five league games, Kenson have two wins, two draws and a defeat from five, Fleet’s last game was a 2-0 loss at Basildon Wanderers, Kenson drew 1-1 at home to Southminster United in their last run out.

 

Southminster United v Writtle Manor (King George V Playing Field, 2pm)

Bottom side Southminster welcome fifth placed (mid table) Writtle Manor to King George V, the hosts have lost all but one of their six league games so far, drawing the other, whilst Writtle have won half of their six games so far, Southminster did at least grab that only draw last time out with a 1-1 at Kenson, Writtle lost 6-0 at home though to Brentwood Athletic Reserves last time out.

 

 

Division Three

Great Bradfords v Springfield ‘A’ (The Bell Field, 12pm)

Fifth placed Great Bradfords take on ninth placed Springfield ‘A’ at The Bell Field in a noon kick off, the hosts have only played three league games so far, winning two and drawing one, whilst Springfield have only one win from five so far, the hosts had a crazy game last time out, drawing 5-5 at home to Harold Wood Athletic ‘B’, Springfield also had a high score draw, 3-3 at home to bottom side Maldon Saints for whom this was their first point of the campaign.

 

Beaulieu Park v Hutton Development (Beaulieu Park, 2pm)

Third placed Beaulieu Park take on sixth placed Hutton, the hosts have three wins and a draw from their four games, Hutton have just one win from five so far, the hosts did lose last time out though in the Cup, 4-1 at Power Town, whereas Hutton won 6-1 at home to South Woodham Ferrers United in their last outing.

 

Broomfield v Haver Town Reserves (Broomfield Football Club #2, 2pm)

Third bottom Broomfield welcome leaders Haver Town Reserves to the outskirts of Chelmsford, the hosts have only played three games and lost two of them, whilst the leaders have five wins from six and have a three-point cushion at the top, Broomfield did net a decent 3-0 home win over Debden Park in a cup game last time out, Haver Town netted a 5-2 success at bottom side Maldon Saints the last time they played.

 

Felsted Rovers Reserves v South Cestos (Felsted Playing Field, 2pm)

Fourth placed Felsted take on seventh placed South Cestos, the hosts have only played three games but have won them all, Cestos have one win from their four games so far, Felsted’s last game was a 5-1 success at Broomfield, Cestos were beaten 3-1 at home by league leaders Haver Town Reserves.

 

Harold Hill Reserves v Harold Wood Athletic ‘B’ (Hendersons Sports and Social Club, 2pm)

Second bottom Harold Hill welcome fourth bottom Harold Wood from up the road, the sides are separated by just one point in the table, with the hosts having played just two games, winning one and losing one, whilst Wood have played five games more but have lost five of those, winning just one, Hill lost 3-1 at Felsted Rovers Reserves last time out, Wood drew 5-5 at Great Bradfords Reserves in a crazy game last time out.

 

Writtle Reserves v Maldon Saints (Writtle Sports and Social Club #1, 2pm)

Second placed Writtle welcome bottom side Maldon Saints to their Sports & Social Club, Writte are three points behind leaders Haver Town Reserves with a game in hand having won four of their five starts, Saints have lost four of their five games and have just a point so far, these two actually played in what was Writtle’s last game in December, which was a 5-2 success for the second placed side, Saints last game was what is their one and only point so far, a 3-3 draw at Springield ‘A’.

 

 

Division Four

Great Baddow v Durning (Great Baddow Recreation Ground Pitch 2, 2pm)

Mid table Baddow welcome third bottom Durning to Baddow Rec, the sides are only separated by three points with the hosts winning two of their three games so far, whilst the visitors have one win and four defeats from their five matches, Baddow last played in October and won 3-0 at Laindon Orient Development, Durning’s last run out was a 4-1 defeat at Dunmow United.

 

Laindon Orient Development v Emerson United (Markham’s Chase Recreation Ground, 2pm)

Orient welcome Emerson Park to Markham’s with the hosts sitting seventh (fourth bottom) having one win from their four games, Emerson Park are in third and a point off leaders United Chelmsford Churches having won three of their five matches so far, Orient played Emerson Park away in their last game and netted a 2-1 win, whilst Emerson Park’s last game was a 2-0 home win over Old Chelmsfordians ‘B’.

 

Power Town v United Chelmsford Churches (Wickford Memorial Ground, 2pm)

Sixth placed Power Town welcome league leaders United Chelmsford Churches to Wickford, the hosts have one win, one draw and one defeat from three, the visitors have three wins and a draw from four games so far, Power Town netted a 4-1 home win over Beulieu Park in the cup last time out, UCC thrashed Shenfield Association ‘A’ 6-0 at home in their last run out.

 

Shenfield Association ‘A’ v Pitsea Athletic Reserves (Billericay School (Billericay Sports Centre), 2pm)

Second bottom Shenfield welcome fourth placed Pitsea to Billericay School, although the sides are only separated by four points in a tight division, Shenfield have lost four of their five outings so far though, whilst Pitsea have two wins and a draw from three, these two did met in their last game which resulted in a 4-1 win for Pitsea, so they will start against each other after ending against each other in December.

 

Division Five

Beaulieu Park Reserves v Broomfield Reserves (Beaulieu Park, 2pm)

Third bottom Beaulieu Park take on fourth bottom Broomfield with the sides level on points although the hosts goal difference of -22 after just five games means they are below their opponents, Beaulieu Park have lost four of their five game so far whilst Broomfield have one win and three defeats from their four, the hosts last game was a 4-1 loss at home to Writte ‘A’, Broomfield also lost in their last outing, a 4-2 home defeat to Emerson United.

 

Debden Park v Silver End United Reserves (Silver End Village Hall #2, 2pm)

Fifth placed Debden Park take on bottom side Silver End, Debden have two wins and a loss from their three games, Silver End have lost all four of their games so far, Debden lost 3-0 at Broomfield last time out in a cup game, Silver End lost 1-0 at Dunmow Town Reserves in their last outing.

 

Southend Rangers Reserves v Emerson United ‘A’ (The Len Forge Centre, 2pm)

Second placed Southend welcome fourth placed Emerson United to Eastwoodbury Lane with the sides separated by six points despite only having two positions between them, the hosts have four wins from six and are two points off the lead, the visitors have two wins, a draw and two defeats from five, Rangers last outing was a 2-1 win at Debden Park, Emerson netted a 4-2 win at Broomfield Reserves last time out.

 

Writtle ‘A’ v Dunmow Town Reserves (Writtle Sports and Social Club #2, 2pm)

Third placed Writtle take on sixth placed Dunmow, the hosts have two wins and a draw from three so far, Dunmow have two wins and two losses from four, Writtle’s last outing was a 4-1 win at Beaulieu Park Reserves, Dunmow’s last game saw them lose 6-3 at league leaders Harold Hill ‘A’.

 

Great Bradfords Reserves v Kelvedon Social Reserves (The Bell Field, 4pm)

Seventh placed Great Bradfords welcome second bottom Social to The Bell Field, the hosts have one win and three losses from four, Social have only played two games, drawing one and losing the other, that loss was in their last game against Great Bradfords, which was that one win for the hosts as they ran out 2-0 winners, so these two sides will end and resume against each other.
