With the back drop of Rayleigh Cricket Club playing on one side of the pitch the football pre-season continued as Rayleigh Town of the Olympian Premier took on local ESL side Basildon United on a billiard table of a surface. The home side created most of the chances during the game although Basildon created three good ones themselves but overall the home side were slightly better and would of been more happy with their performance than Basildon, who huffed and puffed but lacked much up front. Still a good workout for both sides as the season draws nearer.
