Essex County Women's Premier Division, Sunday 3rd November 2013
On a cold windy afternoon at Warner's Bridge Park Southendian Ladies continued their perfect start to the league season with a scrappy but solid 2-0 win over Silver End United. Both teams struggled to pass the ball on a heavy pitch and the windy conditions didn't always help the game either. Manor created the better chances in the first half hour and but for three good saves from the away sides keeper Manor would of took the lead before they eventually did. This came on 36 minutes direct from a corner, taken by Nikhol Chapman, that went in via the keeper and defender on the goal line. It was a scrappy goal by all accounts and fitting in a scrappy game. Manor continued to struggle to play their normal composed passing game and Silver End were always in the game until Manor doubled their lead on 63 minutes when Georgia Holdaway burst through and eventually struck the ball in via the keepers hand for 2-0. Manor relaxed more after this and could of added to their lead. Silver End did finish the game stronger but were unable to really test the manor goal apart from one effort that was tipped onto the bar by keeper Rhianne Cunningham, one of three players used as keepers in the Manor goal during the game, as there normal keeper was away. But Manor ran out 2-0 winners and continue their fine start to the season.
