The first game of the day at Noon saw Tower Hamlets caused a surprise by defeating ESL Reserve Division runners up Thurrock to win the Reserve Shield for 2015. Hamlets opened the scoring on 27 minutes when a ball lobbed through to Lamar Earles saw the Hamlets player lob the onrushing keeper to put the Mile End side ahead. Hamlets then saw an effort come back off the bar a few minutes later before the East London side saw themselves reduced to ten men for an off the ball incident. However the ten men didn't seem to be effected and doubled their lead in spectacular fashion on 59 minutes when Bamba tried his luck from way out and saw his great looping strike catch out the Thurrock keeper who could only help the ball into the net. On 67 minutes Thurrock were awarded a lifeline when they won a penalty for a foul inside the box and Jordan Clark stepped up and scored to make it 2-1. Thurrock thought they were level six minutes later when heading home from a corner but the referee ruled the goal out for a foul. Thurrock put some late pressure on the Hamlets defence but they held out to win the Shield.
