Canvey Island 0 Concord Rangers 2

Ryman League Premier Division, Monday 1st April 2013

Today I went to experience my first 'Island Derby' and a healthy crowd of 616 turned up to watch it with me.   The majority of them would of gone home disappointed however as the home side created no chances of note at all and the Concord keeper didn't have to make a save at all.   The game lacked any real clear cut chances but Concord scored the goals which made the difference.  The first goal was after 3 minutes when a high looping cross deceived the Canvey keeper and Tony Stokes was free at the back post to smack home. The second goal came just before the break when Jason Hallett's cross deflected up over the keeper off a defender and looped into the far corner of the net.
