Bowers & Pitsea 0 Southend Manor 5

Essex Senior League, Tuesday 30th April 2013

Manor put in a five star performance to demolish their local rivals Bowers & Pitsea 5-0 at the Len Salmon Stadium this evening. Manor were 1-0 up after 10 minutes when Gary Paterson cut inside on the left hand side of the penalty area and from 20 yards delivered a blockbuster of a shot past Doyle in the Bowers goal for a wonderful opener. It was 2-0 a minute later. A ball forward bounced up high and eluded Bowers keeper Doyle and Mark Sisson was on hand to tap into the empty net. Manor were creating chances at will and went further in front on 27 minutes when a free kick out on the left hand side about 30 yards out was knocked into the six yard box and Doyle came out to far and the ball sailed over his head and despite getting a hand to the ball it went in off the inside of the post for 3-0. David Tubbs almost made it four just before the half when after good cross into the box his header was brilliantly tipped onto the crossbar by Doyle. Manor came out in the second half with much the same purpose and added a fourth goal on 53 minutes when Jamie Matthews corner was glanced in over Doyle and the defenders on the goal line by Ash PibworthOn 55 minutes Jamie Salmon limped off injured to be replaced by Liam Jarrett. Bowers did try and test Adam Seal in the Manor goal but were reduced to long range efforts which were simple for Seal although to be honest Bowers didn't really create much at all during the game. On 72 minutes Kye Jude replaced Gary Paterson and a minute later Manor added a fifth goal when Terry Griffiths ran through into the box and from an angle chipped the ball over Doyle into the far corner of the goal. Manor continued to knock the ball around with ease as Bowers struggled to get a foot on the ball. Manor did make one final change with five minutes left when Connor Ivie came on for Yew Danso. The home side did create one good chance near the end but a poor finish ended their chances of a consolation goal.

Sawbridgeworth Town 0 Southend Manor 3

Essex Senior League, Saturday 27th April 2013

Manor produced a great second half performance to dispatch Sawbridgeworth Town 3-0 at Crofters this afternoon. The first half was a typical end of season fare with both teams going through the motions and lacking an edge to their play. Manor did create a couple of half chances in the first half but not alot happened and the game reached the half goalless.  Aaron Baldwin had to be replaced at half time with David Tubbs as he hurt his back. Manor came out with much more tempo in the second half and on 52 minutes they took the lead. Sub Tubbs got free down the right and his ball into the box slipped from the keepers grasp and Yew Danso kept his cool to control the ball and slot into the goal for 1-0. Manor continued to pile forward and create chances but only had one goal to show for their efforts. A second goal seemed almost inevitable and so it proved on 63 minutes when after Albert Pinto's great work on the left wing the resulting cross was headed in brilliantly by centre back Brad Vaughan for 2-0.
Three minutes later and it was 3-0. Yew Danso's fantastic through ball found Mark Sisson and his delicately touched the ball past the onrushing keeper and the ball rolled into the net. Manor made two more changes on 74 and 78 minutes. First one was Kye Jude on for Connor Ivie and then the second one was Jonathan Kemp on for Yew Danso, who had a tight hamstring. Manor could of scored more goals but wasted the opportunites but to be fair the game was won by that stage and were totally dominant in the second half.

Southend Manor U18s 0 East Thurrock U18s 1

EJA U18s Essex League, Wednesday 24th April 2013

Manor lost their final home match of the season after a 1-0 defeat at the hands of East Thurrock United.
The only goal of the game came on 24 minutes when after a long ball over the top the ball was struck well across the keeper into the far corner. Manor created enough to win but just didn't have that luck in front of goal.Robbie Lewis had the best chances but he volleyed over just before the half from six yards and then hit the bar with a great effort in the second half. East Thurrock did force a couple of good saves from the home keeper but Manor deserved something from the game but it wasn't to be.
