Bowers Vase run came to an end in North Wembley this afternoon after going down 3-2 at Vale Farm. The home side were much the better side in the first half as the visitors struggled to get out of first gear and lead at the half thanks to a free kick from Yassine Fehmi-Gil just before the half hour. Bowers were much better second half but lacked that killer instinct in front of goal and paid for this when they fell two behind on 67 minutes when Alex Witham jincked into the box and finished cooly past Leatherbarrow. Bowers kept pressing thought and with nine minutes left grabbed a goal back when a corner kick was glanced home by Ross Adams but minutes later Wembley doubled their lead again when a clearence by keeper Fogler was left by the Bowers defence allowing Joe Wright to run free and beat the onrushing Leatherbarrow to the ball by backheading it over him into the empty net. Bowers threatened a comeback again two minutes from time when a cross was converted in off the post by Lewis Manor but it was too little too late and Wembley held on for the win.
